Course No. PK21
Poka Yoke (Mistake Proofing) in Manufacturing
Description:
Primarily designed for the engineering professional in Manufacturing, this course aims at enabling them identify the best locations for applying Poka Yoke. This is accomplished using several analytical tools, and a basic understanding of what drives defects.Different types of Poka Yoke, and their applicability are discussed, followed by actual examples from several industries. Participants operate a simulated factory, and decide where and what types of Poka Yoke to use. Methods to evaluate the effectiveness of their decisions are covered as a part of this exercise. Finally, a cost / benefit analysis prepares them to write a proposal for management approval.
Benefits:
- Apply the right kinds of Poka Yoke at the right locations in the production system
