Course No. FSE11
Field Service Engineer Training-Semi Conductor Equipment
Description:
The primary focus of the fab Process Engineer / Manager is typically on Process Yields, Capability, Defects, Mean Time Between Failures, Total Cost of Ownership, etc. FSEs often lack basic understanding of such topics; this class fills that gap. Run in two parts, the morning session comprises of an overview of semi conductor processes, while the afternoon session focuses on the language used in the fab. This class is particularly suitable for those who may have had formal education in engineering, technology, sciences, or other such disciplines, and would like to increase their knowledge of fab operations.
Benefits:
- Enhance the ability to speak the language of the Process Engineer / Manager
- Improve customer relations by better understanding what is important to them
- Increase customer satisfaction, and retention
Topics Covered:
- Semi Conductor Processes (Covered by the class “From Grains To Brains”)
- Defects and their metrics (DPU, PPM)
- Process yields and how to calculate the same
- Terminology used in Statistical Process Control, and types of charts
- Process capability – Cp, Cpk
- Understanding of Pareto Diagrams, and how to build one
- Terminology used for equipment reliability (e.g. Mean Time Between Failures)
- What is meant by Total Cost of Ownership, and how it is relevant
Pre-requisites: College level education in Science / Engineering / Technology
